When you are ready to begin making money online, you start to purchase and devour ebook after ebook. There is a lot of valuable information sold through ebooks, however, when you are just starting out, you don’t have a lot of money to spare.

As an author I know that many individuals choose to share their knowledge through books in print. This is because these books will also make it to library shelves where they can be read by anyone. Recently, I decided to do my own research to discover if my local library had anything to offer in the way of making money online.

I cheated and used the library’s online card catalog. Sure enough, the library had plenty of books on the subject. I wrote the call numbers down and headed over with my oldest daughter. While she was searching Sherlock Holmes stories, I found more books about making money online than I could check out on one library card. I chose the top four and brought them home.

So far these books have taught me several things I did not know. I did discover though, that one of the books had information that was out of date. Just to warn you ahead of time, making money online is something that requires work, and often times certain strategies become less popular and successful. You must look at the date the book was published to determine if it still has relevance.

I plan on going back to the library to obtain four more books once I completely finish with these. The point of this post is to let you know there are some free resources available that you may want to utilize before making big investments online.

This is because it is much easier today to sell products on the Internet, and to enroll new distributors.

Search through Google’s services and begin implementing a few of them to increase your Internet business.

2. Join several respectable discussion forums. Forums are a great way to gain free training and learn about other resources that you can use to help your Internet business succeed. The Warrior Forum and WAHM forum are perfect example of this. You can even place your website link in your signature on the forum. Whenever you make a post (either asking a question or answering one), the signature will be displayed below the post and other users will be able to click on it.

Often times people join affiliate marketing because the merchant provides a website for them. Although this can be a good way to begin to gain some Internet marketing experience, you will eventually want to set up your own unique website.

Here are a few different ways you can do start your own website, and the steps it takes to get your website up and running.

1. You want to host your own website as opposed to using a replicated website. This gives you complete control so that you can take what has already been created, and make changes to it that will make the site more unique.

2. Use a reputable hosting company. You can find one that fits into your budget, yet is known for experiencing little or no downtime. Using a free or cheap hosting company sounds good, but if your website spends more of its time down than accessible to searchers, you won’t be making any money.

3. Most hosting companies will provide you with training via tutorials. You can quickly learn how to build a basic website. You also won’t need to learn HTML code in most cases (although it is a good idea to learn the basics).

Most Internet businesses are open 24 hours a day. This is because technology allows orders to be collected and payments to be accepted any time of the day or night. Unfortunately, you can stay awake 24/7 in order to do business!

You will want to set hours that your business will be open for contact. This may be determined by the type of Internet business you have. You may be able to work a regular 9 to 5 schedule, but if you are running an online video arcade for kids, you will want to set after school hours.

If your business does not require any contact with customers, however, you may be able to get away with not creating business hours.

Make sure you do publish your office hours on your contact page if you decide to establish set office hours. This way your customers can easily determine the best time to get a hold of you.
