One of the ways I started making a few extra dollars online is through survey companies. I found several cash surveys that were actually legitimate (although I also discovered several survey companies that were scams).
The best survey companies are listed below. First, I want to warn you that you cannot make a full-time living completing online surveys. These survey companies will only give you between three to four surveys a month, and each online survey will only pay out a few dollars. Joining the survey companies is something I do for fun rather than to make a large amount of cash.
Best Online Surveys
1. American Consumer Opinion: This company is by far the best survey site online. They are BBB approved. I have often involved my daughter in these online surveys (and yes, I gave her the survey money). There is no withdrawal limit, so you can cash out with as little as $1.00. At American Consumer Opinion, Most surveys pay above $4. On one occasion I received an invite for a survey that paid $100. I completed the survey, and was paid the $100 as promised. So if you are going to start out with any survey companies, I highly recommend you join American Consumer Opinion first.
2. InboxDollars: InboxDollars is more than just getting paid to take surveys. You can also earn money by clicking on emails, using their grocery coupons, shopping through their website, and referring others. I have received payout from InboxDollars numerous times, and I can vouch that they are a legitimate survey company. In fact, they will give you $5.00 just for signing up. The only downside with this online survey company is that you must wait until you reach a payout of $20.00 to request a check.
3. SurveySavvy: SurveySavvy is another BBB approved survey company. They have a low payout of $1.00 which is great for anyone starting out with a survey company. SurveySavvy payments are made by check after you request your money be sent to you. Be aware that most survey companies, including SurveySavvy, take four to six weeks to process and ship your check. I just requested payout again today, so I can vouch that SurveySavvy is 100% legit.

4. Vindale Research: Vindale has a high payout of $50.00, but it can be reached much easier than some of the other survey companies. I first learned about this company from a friend, and I’m glad I did. $50 comes in handy every now and then. Upon log in you will see a list of available surveys with the dollar amount listed next to it. The surveys range from $.50 and $20 each.

5. Cash Crate: You may have noticed my banners on the homepage for Cash Crate. This survey company has been around for a long time. I have received plenty of payments from them. Checks are sent out after you reach the $20.00 payout. You can complete surveys, take offers, shop through their site, and even earn prizes in addition the cash. What I love about Cash Crate is that even teenagers between 13 and 18 can sign up (with parents permission of course). Nothing wrong with a teen earning a few spending dollars in her spare time.
6. Ipsos I-Say Panel: Ipsos is another survey company that has been around awhile. They award you points for taking surveys. You can use those points to request gift cards, prizes, and most importantly cash. What I like is that they often have special sweepstakes going on for large amounts of cash (most recently $5,000). Definitely worth a few minutes of your time to make a little online survey company cash!
7. MyPoints: MyPoints is one of my favorite online survey companies. Actually, it is a lot bigger than just surveys. You can click on emails to earn points in addition to completing online surveys, and you can shop through their website. I request Amazon.com gift cards with my points, but you can request Paypal payments. I have received hundreds of dollars for Amazon.com. I only shop through MyPoints website when I have something I have to order anyway, such as printer ink. A few times I placed my Oriental Trading Post order through MyPoints. So just by using it for what you plan on doing anyway, you can earn money, gift cards, or other great prizes.

8. SwagBucks: SwagBucks is unique because you can earn money just going to their website and performing searches. You can also take surveys, and perform other tasks to get SwagBucks. Just like MyPoints, you can turn your SwagBucks in for Paypal cash, gift cards, or prizes. I have personally received numerous Amazon gift cards and several Paypal payments. This online survey site is free to use, but be aware that it is quite addicting (and loads of fun).
9. Quality Health: Quality Health is more than just a survey site. Although the paying online activities, such as surveys and shopping are great, free members will enjoy a host of other great benefits. Quality Health also has plenty of offers for free samples for you to try in addition to some amazing coupons. Saving money is just as good as making money because it means more money in your pocket. You’ll find lots of free information through this survey company on such health topics as diabetes and ADHD. There are even online support groups that you can join.
10: Opinion Outpost: Take paid surveys through Opinion Outposts online survey panel. Just like some of the online survey companies mentioned above, Opinion Outpost provides members with points upon completion of the surveys. 10 Opinion Outpost points translates in to $1.00. Members can, however, choose to receive gift cards instead of cash. The great thing about Opinion Outpost is the top quality surveys. Many Fortune 500 Companies use Opinion Outpost to gather the information they need to proceed with certain products and services.
